Susanne Peusquens (double bass, percussion, melodica)

Music studies at the „Hogeschool voor de Kunsten“, Amsterdam and the conservatory Cologne. Instrumental and composition lessons with Jiggs Whigham, Michael Nyman and others. Radio and tv productions for WDR and ZDF. Independent composer and instrumentalist, Susanne Peusquens has contributed to cd productions, both for jazz and classical music ensembles. International on-stage appearances since 1995 with the duo twotones and Silentones – Live music for silent movies. Jazz support grant by the city of Frankfurt in 2002 for her double-bass-duo Bassics.

 

Matthias Jahner (saxophone, clarinet, flute)

Music studies at the „Hogeschool voor de Kunsten“, Amsterdam. Member of various international jazzensembles. Contributions to radio, tv, cd, musical, and theatre productions among Starlight Express, theatre Düsseldorf, Theatre Bochum. Composer of theatre and film music and musical supervision in Shakespeare’s Midnight Summer Dream, theatre Münster. Since 1995 member of the silent movie duo twotones and Silentones.

Joachim Baerenz (piano)

Many international appearances have proved him one of the masters of performing livemusic to silent-movies since 1970. Piano accompaniment for Pina Bausch’s dance-group at the Folkwang-school in Essen in 1984. Joachim Baerenz is an extraordinary improviser and has arranged various scores as well as contemporary theme compilations. Productions and silent movie accompaniment for ZDF and arte.

 

Christian Roderburg (percussion)

Solo-performer of drums and percussion, member of the "Düsseldorf drum ensemble", chamber orchestras and symphonic orchestras. Various cd productions. Since 1985 numerous on-stage appearances with silent movie accompaniment, among others with Joachim Bärenz.
